editors note:
Communication is the key. A month into ‘lockdown’ and right now is the most important time for us to communicate with each other. A few words can make a difference. Our cover image, themed on ‘communication’, is by canterbury photographer Tiggy Ara.
All businesses featured here advertised for free; please support them by sharing the edition.
As we hit week three of the ‘Lockdown’, it is time for some drastic measures. The message remains 'Stay Home and Stay Safe' to protect our NHS, but we are acutely aware that there’s only so many games of Monopoly anyone can stand before conflict breaks out. To combat this ‘cene has launched into the second of three special ‘Recovered' e-editions of the magazine.
As before, each issue will feature advertising for local businesses that we have placed for free, in a show of support during a very uncertain time for all of us. Please remember them and share.
The stars keep coming! We have in-depth interviews with the likes of Russell Brand’s sidekick Matt Morgan who talks through the Kent spots that shaped his life. The Libertines' bassist John Hassall talks Margate, while Mr Doodle is on the squiggly line to success.
Rapper Mic Righteous has breakfast, one-time Island Records designer Bruno Tilley tells us about his encounters with Bob Marley and that RUN DMC logo, BBC Radio 1’s Abbie McCarthy talks county music and snowboarding Olympian James Barnes-Miller gives us the lowdown on snow sports.
Fashion comes in the form of shoots with The Gallerys and Rat Race, Pilot Apparel, Handsome Freaks and Style Space Columnist Siobhan Maroney’s trip to the Walpole Bay Hotel.
We have tattoo artists, cabaret capers, recycled wetsuits and food features from Bottega Caruso, Verdigris, Harbour St. Tapas and much, much more.
So, stay home, put the Playdough away and enjoy the read.
