Introducing to Kent - Bolle Sparkling Wines: A Toast to Non-Drinkers

Check out BOLLE’s non-alcoholic take on the classic French 75 cocktail

In a world where the clinking of glasses often accompanies moments of joy and celebration, one man's passion for creating happiness has led to the emergence of something truly special: BOLLE Wines.

Founded by Roberto Vanin, Bolle is more than just a collection of exquisite non-alcoholic wines; it embodies a spirit of inclusivity and togetherness, inviting everyone to partake in the effervescent delight of sparkling wine.

Roberto's Journey: A Tale of Joy and Inclusivity

Growing up in the enchanting city of Treviso, Roberto discovered the magic of joy with a simple phrase: "Prendi una bottiglia di bolle" ("Bring a bottle of bubbles"). For him, celebrations were synonymous with the vibrant spirit of sparkling wine, fondly known as "Bolle" in his family.

This childhood passion fuelled Roberto's pursuit of oenology and chemistry studies at the University of Padova, leading to a successful career in research and development for consumer goods companies.

After three decades of dreaming and dedication, Roberto turned his vision into reality by crafting BOLLE, a range of non-alcoholic wines that capture the essence of celebration and joy. Each bottle of BOLLE is a testament to Roberto's commitment to inclusivity, inspired by the warm memories of his family's traditions and the desire to spread happiness far and wide.

A Blend of Tradition and Innovation

BOLLE introduced its innovative non-alcoholic (<0.5% ABV) sparkling wine in 2024, setting a new standard in the industry with a ground-breaking winemaking technique. Through patented processes incorporating secondary fermentation, BOLLE challenges perceptions and offers a distinctive experience for wine enthusiasts without compromising on taste or quality.

To celebrate this spirit of inclusivity, why not try mixing up a French 75 cocktail* at home? This classic recipe, traditionally made with gin, can easily be adapted for Dry January by swapping in a non-alcoholic alternative like Seedlip. With a refreshing twist of lemon and a touch of sweetness, it's the perfect way to enjoy a Friday night or any special occasion in style.

What’s next for BOLLE?

With a recent funding round and key leadership appointments, BOLLE is poised to reshape the wine industry by attracting new drinkers, retaining existing ones, and promoting responsible consumption. CEO Gary Read emphasises BOLLE's mission to cater to diverse lifestyles and occasions, offering high-quality non-alcoholic wines that elevate social experiences and dining occasions.

BOLLE’s initial sparkling cuvées—Rosé and Blanc de Blancs— set a new standard for non-alcoholic wines through a meticulous de-alcoholisation process and unique second fermentation step. By maintaining the wine's true essence and complexity, BOLLE stands out as a trailblazer in the realm of non-alcoholic options. Roberto shares that from the company’s own research, they have discovered that an impressive 95% of those who have savoured a sip of BOLLE believe it rivals the quality of traditional alcoholic sparkling wines, appealing to a growing market segment seeking premium, alcohol free alternatives.
