Indie icons Feeder have been announced as a headliner for A New Day Festival at Mt Ephraim, Faversham August 16th-18th 2024.

Stick on Feeder’s The Best of and we almost guarantee that you will recognise a song within three tracks.

In the late 90s/early 2000s, Feeder were one of the household names flying the British flag for indie rock.

Lead singer and guitarist Grant Nicholas and bassist Taka Hirose continue to rock the festival scene with a back catalogue that will have you uttering “blimey, this was Feeder as well?”

Adverts for car brands have put Feeder’s hits into homes without people necessarily knowing who they are, while widely played console games like Gran Turismo have used a number of their hits onto backing tracks.

Celebrated hit Buck Rogers was joined by Just a Day, Seven Days in The Sun, Just The Way I’m Feeling and Tumble and Fall, making up just a few of more than 40 singles.

A NEW DAY FESTIVAL

Renowned as the small festival with the big names, the line-up, as always, provides a unique chance to see legendary bands in an intimate setting, this year including Tangerine Dream, Hawkwind (possibly playing their last-ever gig if rumours are to be believed), Gong, Curved Air, Focus and Sweet, concluding their final UK tour.

Many younger up-and-coming bands also feature, including local heroes The Zac Schulze Gand, Gerry Jablonski and the increasingly popular When Rivers Meet, along with Molotov Jukebox (featuring internationally-acclaimed actress Natalia Tena).

There is an international feel about the line-up this year: Tangerine Dream hail from Germany, of course; Focus from Holland; and Cuprum from the Czech Republic, while Flor De Loto, massive in their home country, are coming from Peru to play their first-ever UK gig. The audience, too, includes festivalgoers from all over the UK, Europe and America, with a few regulars from Japan and Australia!

A New Day, though, is about much more than the music. Within the beautiful ornamental garden setting you will find a plethora of craft and music stalls, excellent food stalls catering to all tastes and diets and a well-stocked bar crammed with award-winning ales, lagers and ciders, with spirits and cocktails to boot, often below pub prices.

A New Day was shortlisted by UK Festival Awards this year for Best Small Festival, a remarkable achievement considering it was up against hundreds of festivals, many of which are 10 times the capacity. It’s fair to say the festival goes from strength to strength, having survived the combined effect of Covid lockdowns and the biggest cost-of-living crisis in living memory.

Camping and glamping is available, while parking is ample and free.
