The UK's first shop devoted entirely to condiments, pickles, seasonings and sauces, officially opens in Rochester

Haus Of Condiments, the UK's first shop devoted entirely to condiments, pickles, seasonings and sauces, officially opens its doors on Rochester's historic High Street.

Created by the multiple Great Taste Award-winning UK brand Condimaniac, the new store celebrates the products that elevate everyday meals into something memorable, with shelves dedicated entirely to exceptional sauces, seasonings, pickles and exclusive creations from the brand.

“We are an eCommerce business and brick-and-mortar isn't where we ever imagined ourselves going," says Jennifer Dreier, co-founder of Condimaniac. "But here we are, and now that we're this close, it's genuinely exciting. We want to bring Condimaniac to the high street in the form of a physical home of condiments".

Visitors can browse Condimaniac's best sellers, limited-edition products and store exclusives, alongside the signature Pickle & Mix experience, where customers can build their own selection of pickled treats.

The store will also feature a rotating range of experimental small-batch products created exclusively for Haus Of Condiments. Looking ahead, the venue will become home to the Sorcery in 2027 - a dedicated clubhouse space for members of Condimaniac's subscription community, Club Maniac, offering exclusive products and experiences, early-access launches and special events throughout the year.

Co-founder Kier Kemp says: "I'm most excited about Pickle & Mix. It's one of those ideas that has such a good name it can't not be good. I'm also excited about the opening because we're going to have Pickle Beer. My two favourite things together!"

Located on Rochester's historic High Street, the store is housed within a Grade I-listed 17th-century building at the heart of the town's Dickensian heritage.

The building is also believed to have been the home of Mr Pumblechook, Pip's pompous uncle-by-marriage in Great Expectations, further strengthening its connection to Rochester's literary history. More recently, the premises was formerly occupied by Elizabeth's Restaurant, a much-loved local institution that served the Rochester community for more than 50 years and closed its doors in 2019.

Dreier adds: "We've lived in Rochester since 2019 and I think the High Street has just gotten better and better over the years. It doesn't suffer from a lot of the things you see in other towns of a similar size - we have mostly independent businesses and a fantastic mix of restaurants and cafés, rather than chains and vape shops. It has a lovely community feel, and more and more brilliant independent businesses seem to open all the time. We're really excited to become part of that".

Founded by Jennifer Dreier and Kier Kemp, Condimaniac has built a reputation for creating innovative products that go beyond the supermarket shelf. The brand has earned multiple accolades from Stylist, ITV, Delish UK, The Independent, The Telegraph, Foodism and Radio X, while Kier was hand-picked by Gordon Ramsay to appear on Season 2 of BBC's Future Food Stars in 2023, bringing Condimaniac's "better than what's on the supermarket shelf" philosophy to a national audience.
