ROCHESTER VINTAGE FAIR
www.rochestervintageclothingfair.com
On the second Saturday of each month, Rochester Vintage Clothing Fair opens its doors to the public. Located in the heart of Rochester, just off the high street, it’s a place to shop beautiful and affordable vintage pieces all from the 1960’s onwards.
All traders are local to Kent and hand-picked to bring plenty of clothing, accessories, shoes and jewellery.
The doors swing open at 10am each month, and you’re invited to browse through the plethora of rails of local vintage sellers.
FRIDAY VINTAGE CLUB
Nicole from Friday Vintage Club says: “I’m seeing a surge in people looking for clothes that feel connected to the natural world. Whether that’s crafted organic fibres, or striking prints that draw from flora and fauna. But this isn’t all earthy tones and muted muddy patchworks. It’s celebrating the natural world with vivid colours and a glint in the eye. Knitwear is such an easy way to get involved. Think oversized artisanal cardies emblazoned with strawberries or magpies or sunflowers. These bold, playful choices can be offset with everyday basics like denim. My ‘Natural High’ Drop will be available to purchase on my website on Friday 19th January.“
RAT RACE
Rat Race has been trading in Margate since 2008 in various locations around town. Our favourite is our recent location within The Old Kent Market which is a hive of activity during the summer months.
It’s an independent company run by Nick and Lorraine in the fashion retail business selling heritage brand clothing.
The owners also DJ together as The Rat Race DJ's playing sounds from the Mod scene all on vinyl, and even play out at OKM during the Margate Soul Festival each year.
REWEAR
Unit 1, South Quay Shed, Whitstable
In 2022 Re-wear found a home at the South Quay Shed in Whitstable and has been there ever since. Owner Emma says: “My passion for good-quality second-hand clothes started as a teenager and I've always preferred wearing second-hand to create a unique look. It takes a lot of time and energy to find great stock but I have a good eye and recognise quality when I see it.
“I choose everything with great care and fill my shop with a mixture of unique and one-off pieces plus the quiet wardrobe staples you need to unlock all your outfits. Sustainability is key to me and I want you to love (and wear) what you buy! I also offer a consignment service where I resell your unwanted and unloved clothes.”
