Kent boxer Chev Clarke (@teamc4chev) has won the British Cruiserweight title, defeating Lewisham’s Ellis Zorro on Saturday May 25th in Leeds.
As part of the undercard for the Josh Taylor vs Jack Catterall 2 show, the unbeaten Clarke went 9-0 the after stopping Zorro in the 8th round claiming the famous belt.
Gravesend’s Clarke continues his quest for titles having already bagged the WBA Inter-Continental Cruiserweight belt back in January, beating Tommy McCarthy in Belfast, as well as the IBF International Cruiserweight title, which he won back in September 2023 by beating the Czech Republic’s Vasil Ducar at the OVO Arena, Wembley.
Those at ringside, including former Heavyweight champ Tony Bellew, praised Chev once more for getting the job done live on DAZN.
Having signed with Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Boxing in 2022, Clarke has won all nine fights since turning professional, having previously represented Team GB at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
In an interview Hearn has already said he believes Clarke will “go on to become a World Champion” - he’s one step closer.
