Folkestone duo Happy Skate (@happy_skate_) and Docker Brew Co. (@dockerbrewery ) have collaborated on brand-new pale ale Wheelbite.

Working Alongside Happy Skate’s Dan Joyce and designer Nick Towers (@nicktowers), Docker Brew Co. announced the collab that has been ‘a long time in the making’.

Pete Nelson of Docker says: “We were well chuffed when Dan got in contact with us and together we sprang a plan to make this new beer. To us at Docker, Happy Skate represents all that is good about Folkestone - creativity, DIY ethics, indie spirit, inclusivity and, most of all, good products.”

Dan Joyce, who is known for starring 2000s stunt-led TV show Dirty Sanchez, says: “I’ve always wanted to make my own beer since brewing a bit as a teenager in Cornwall. What I really like about the craft beer scene are the similarities with analog photography, screen printing and DIY culture. It’s a tangible product that’s handmade. I like the idea of experimenting with different hops and yeasts to come up with something unique - very much like creating a zine.”

Wheelbite is a 5% pale ale that features the US hop blend Cryopop by Yakima Chief and the experimental UK hop Jester. On fermenting duties is a Norwegian yeast strain called Kveik that breaks all the rules. All together it makes a grapefruity hop bomb, full of stone fruit flavour.
