UK’s first 24/7 kayak vending machine launches in Kent

Self-service rental hub for paddle sports opens in Dover

A global leader in paddle sport rentals, KAYAKOMAT has opened one of its self-service rental hubs at the Port of Dover this week.

It is currently the only one of its kind in the UK, joining eight other countries to offer quick and convenient access to kayaking and paddleboarding.

The Dover Waterfront has undergone re-generation in the last couple of years, with a new marina, expansive leisure spaces, local food and drink pop-ups and the introduction of sports clubs and societies.

Diederik Smet, Placemaking, Events and Partnerships Manager at the Port of Dover said: “We are delighted to add another brilliant activity to our ever-growing and action-packed Waterfront, with a particular aim to increase water sports opportunities for the community as part of our journey to 2050.

“We are working in partnership with many organisations to provide world class facilities and empower people to use Kent’s beautiful coast to stay active, relax and unwind.”

Sam Richmond, KAYAKOMAT’s Southeast representative added: “I’m delighted to be bringing kayaking and paddleboarding to Dover, making one of the most popular water sports available to the community 24/7. It is a fantastic addition to the town’s developing waterfront, which is also within easy access of London and the rest of Southeast England.”
