Kent restaurant awarded two Michelin Stars in 2025 Guide
it’s one of just 29 two-star restaurants across the UK
Hide and Fox in Saltwood, near Hythe, has received a coveted second Michelin Star at the annual Michelin Guide launch ceremony held at Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum in Glasgow on Monday 10th February.
Run by duo Allister Barsby and Alice Bussi, the Hide and Fox has added another chapter to their impressive story.
Michelin inspectors said: “Allister and the team’s cooking is packed full of delicious produce, cooked with due respect to deliver dishes that succeed on every level. The Inspectors especially loved the Brixham crab with crab jelly, tandoori and pickled vegetables. The service is equally endearing, helping to create an experience that is a true delight.”
The Hide and Fox is one of just 29 two-star restaurants recommended by the Inspectors in this year’s selection across the UK & Ireland.
Hide and Fox took to social media and said: “Overwhelmed doesn’t quite describe the feeling. Our little neighbourhood restaurant has been awarded 2 Michelin stars!"

Kent’s other Michelin stars include, The Sportsman, Seasalter, with one star, The Bridge Arms, Bridge, Canterbury with one star and the Fordwich Arms, Fordwich, Canterbury with one star.
Within the Michelin Guide there are 1,147 recommended restaurants, including:
- 10 restaurants with Three MICHELIN Stars (1 new)
- 29 restaurants with Two MICHELIN Stars (3 new)
- 181 restaurants with One MICHELIN Star (22 new)
- 36 restaurants with a MICHELIN Green Star (5 new)
- 150 restaurants with a Bib Gourmand (36 new)
