The Pig Hotels group announce second Kent site

Adding to the The Pig at Bridge Place near Canterbury, a new hotel at Groombridge Place near Tunbridge Wells has been announced



Renowned boutique hotel chain The PIG has announced that it will open a second site in Kent, this time at Groombridge Place near Tunbridge Wells.

Set for a 2025 opening, the company revealed that it has now completed on the building, which will be known as THE PIG at Groombridge.

The popular Grade I-listed moated manor house, will be the second site in the county after THE PIG at Bridge Place near Canterbury.

Announcing a new site in Stratford-Upon-Avon at the same time, Chairman Robin Hutson said: “We are excited to acquire two genuinely unspoilt listed gems and we are looking forward to doing these beautiful buildings justice and restoring them sensitively, with their historic importance at the forefront of all decision making (subject to us gaining required approvals)."

The 17th century building is set in 90 hectares with mill pond, a moat and formal walled gardens and has been used as the backdrop to movies such as Pride and Prejudice (2005) starring Keira Knightley.

The PIG is renowned for it’s restaurant with rooms style, utilising its own, home-grown fruit and vegetables, and the best suppliers in the area.
