The Art Haus to open in Folkestone this month
New indie art supplies store to also host events
A brand new indie art supply store is opening in Folkestone this August, The Art Haus (@arthausfolkestone ) will stock professional art supplies as well as host events, life modelling classes and offer canvas stretching tips.
Stocking high-quality spray paint cans and markers, co-founders Alex and Rosie are looking to offer supplies that can’t be found anywhere else in area.
They said: “We want to be a one-stop shop for all sorts of creatives. It’s a place to chill and listen to good music, and we hope it will be a place where people can come and chat about what they’re creating. If we can help creatives, we’ll find a way to do it.”
The first time business owners also aim to provide more than just art supplies. They want to provide ‘printing for people’, offering competitive price points for extra small print runs for documents, flyers and posters, as well as providing bespoke screen prints to order.
Furthermore, they wish to host classes and events with plans to offer a canvas stretching service as well as life modelling and introductory print-making classes.
Alex and Rosie’s love for Folkestone and the arts has led them to open the store, while they’re hoping Alex’s background in art and design and Rosie’s past as a freelance management consultant will lead them to success.
Rosie said: “We were both looking for a change of career and we love this town, especially how it’s being transformed by art. We’re so excited to support the local creative community and be another independent shop on the high street.”
The Art Haus, located at 3 Grace Hill, is set to open seven days a week from August 25th.
