From Take That to a solo stadium career, the film is a musical fantasy with Williams’ being depicted by a CGI monkey.

Directed by Michael Gracey (The Greatest Showman, P!nk: All I Know So Far), Better Man stars Robbie Williams as himself and Jonno Davies (Kingsman: The Secret ServiceHunters) as a young Robbie.

Also featuring are Steve Pemberton Inside No. 9), Alison Steadman (Gavin & Stacey) and Kate Mulvany (The Great Gatsby). Young versions of the Take That members also feature – Jake Simmance (Anatomy of a Scandal) as Gary Barlow, Liam Head as Howard Donald, Jesse Hyde (Ladies in Black) as Mark Owen and Chase Vollenweider (A Heartbeat Away) as Jason Orange.

Production visited Knowlton Court in Canterbury, to film a scene of Robbie crashing his car through the gates of his mansion.

Knowlton Court is a much-loved family home within a stunning and extensive country estate of over 1,900 acres nestled in the heart of Kent. Described as a ‘timeless work of Tudor history’, Knowlton was built in 1585 and has a sweeping tree-lined driveway and seven holiday cottages.

Kent Film Office confirmed that other productions to have filmed here include The Tunnel: Sabotage (2016) and Jagame Thandhiram (2021).
