Razorlight announced for Smoked & Uncut festival in Canterbury
DIning with Angela Hartnett returns as well as glamping
Smoked & Uncut returns to The Pig at Bridge Place on the outskirts of Canterbury on Saturday 12th August with Razorlight as the festival headliners.
With a full-scale festival filled with nostalgic beats and garden eats, expect laid back rock ’n’ roll tunes, a bundle of bars, field food and feasting - with a few of The Pig’s renowned chef friends.
Ten years ago, it all started with a guy and a guitar in the garden… Wind forwards a decade, and this gig has mushroomed into a pretty sizeable festival full of fun, food, music, and glamping. There is no PIG more fitting to mark the 10-year anniversary than THE PIG-at Bridge Place, a renowned musical honeypot which, over the years, has played host to some of the biggest names in the rock hall of fame - Led Zeppelin and The Kooks to name a few.
Razorlight will be taking to the stage with indie rock classics such as ‘Golden Touch’ and ‘America’, the latter being a UK number one in 2006. More recently in 2022 Razorlight released a new album ‘Razorwhat? The best of Razorlight’ – a celebration of some of the band’s best hits along with a couple of brand-new singles. Having toured America and headlined at festivals such as Reading and Leeds, Razorlight are seasoned professionals when it comes to getting the whole crowd into major party-mode.
Festi-food and Drink
Food stalls at the festivals are another great lure offering a seriously tasty selection of options from classic burgers to hot veggie and vegan bites and stone-baked pizza.
If you want something even more epic to remember your festival day, head inside to the hotel's restaurant for a 4-course feasting menu with Angela Hartnett and her chef friends (names tbc).
Each chef takes on a course so expect dishes that are not only full of flavour but also of their personalities. Angela, who needs little introduction, is one of the UK's most loved chefs and restaurateurs. At the festivals, in addition to her chef friends, she will be joined by Neil Borthwick, Head Chef of Soho's legendary The French House. Neil also happens to be Angela's husband...
THE PIG’s Apprentice & James Golding
Back by popular demand THE PIGs Apprentice field kitchen will be serving up garden classics alongside Group Chef Director James Golding. The PIG apprentices will be operating under canvas to cook up a delicious 3-course menu using ingredients both from the hotels' kitchen gardens and local hero suppliers. Picture long sharing tables, perfect for groups to sit together and enjoy the festival vibes.
