Halloween, wine tasting and Drag Bingo!

Seasonal Fruit Liqueur Workshop – October 1st, from 5.30pm
Macknade will kick off its October events programme with a Seasonal Fruit Liqueur Workshop on October 1st. Led by Katy Newton from Wasted Kitchen, the relaxed workshop will explore the simple art of making seasonal fruit liqueurs, alongside non-alcoholic shrubs. Guests can bring their own fruit, experiment with flavours and create something to take home, with the session taking place in Macknade’s Wine Store.
Tickets are £10 per person.
Iberian Wine Tour: Rioja & North-Central Spain – October 2nd, from 6.30pm
Macknade’s Wine Store is also playing host to the latest installment of its Iberian Wine Tour series, focusing on Rioja and North-Central Spain. The guided tasting will explore a range of wines from Rioja, Navarra and Aragon, from new-wave barrel-fermented whites through to traditional Reserva and Gran Reserva wines, all accompanied by nibbles from the deli.

An Evening of Blues & Soul – October 3rd, from 7pm
Join Macknade for An Evening of Blues & Soul this October, with live music from Lock & Carter and a special Southern-inspired menu from the Macknade Kitchen. Guests will be welcomed with a drink before settling in for an evening of soulful sounds, laid-back blues and dishes from the deep South.

Dog First Aid Course – October 4th, from 10.30am
Dog owners are invited to learn essential pet first aid skills at Macknade’s Dog First Aid Course. Led by Registered Veterinary Nurse Kerry Stubbs, the four-hour interactive course covers recognising emergencies, CPR, choking, heatstroke, seizures, wounds, bleeding and practical bandaging.

Food Confidence Series – October 4th and 11th, from 10.30am
Macknade’s Food Confidence Series, led by Katy Newton of Wasted Kitchen, continues throughout October with two practical workshops designed to help people feel more confident in the kitchen.
First up is the popular Intro to Fermented Foods workshop, which will explore the world of fermentation, including kimchi, krauts, kefir and yoghurt. This is followed by a session on Beans & Lentils, where workshop-goers can explore the different varieties available, understand their nutritional value and learn simple ways to incorporate them into easy, everyday meals.

Wine Garden of England Supper Club – October 17th, from 7pm
Macknade is celebrating Kent’s thriving wine scene with a special post-harvest dinner in collaboration with the Wine Garden of England. Guests can enjoy a three-course menu created by Macknade’s Head Chef, Jon Theobald, paired with wines from four of Kent’s finest vineyards.

Whisky Tasting & Chocolate Pairing with The Heart Cut – October 23rd, from 6.30pm
Macknade is welcoming The Heart Cut founders, Georgie and Fabrizio, to the Wine Store for a guided tasting of its whiskies this Autumn, paired with chocolate from Choc Affair. Tickets also include exclusive after-hours access to browse Macknade’s Wine Store before you leave!

Drag Bingo Night – October 24th, from 7pm
October sees the return of Drag Bingo to Macknade, with the fabulous Delilah Tickles and Anita Wee back for an evening of bingo, big laughs and plenty of prizes. The evening includes four games of bingo, a deli platter and guaranteed entertainment!

Spooky Kids Half Term Pumpkin Decorating – October 27th & 29th, from 10.30am
Families can get into the Halloween spirit with Macknade’s pumpkin decorating sessions during October half term. Children aged 4–12 years can choose a pumpkin and decorate it with paints and spooky stickers for just £7 each. There is no need to book and children must be accompanied by an adult.
Halloween Barn Dance – October 31st, from 6.30pm
Macknade is rounding off its October events programme with a Halloween Barn Dance featuring live music from the A2 Barn Dance Band and a spooky cocktail on arrival. No previous barn dance experience is required, with dances suitable for beginners upwards. Guests can also enjoy street food from Macknade’s Food Village throughout the evening and Halloween fancy dress is encouraged. Did someone say dead cowboy?!
