Gravesham Light Festival Returns to Illuminate 2024's Winter Nights
‘Reflections’ will feature immersive works from exciting arts organisations
Prepare to embrace the brilliance of light and creativity as the Gravesham Light Festival makes its highly anticipated return on January 26th and 27th, 2024 (17:30-20:30).
The annual celebration promises to transform the town into a breathtaking display of illumination, radiance, and artistic spectacle, bringing warmth and wonder to the dark winter days.
Dubbed "Reflections," this year's festival aims to brighten streets and buildings, igniting the community's spirit with a vibrant showcase of creativity and sensory experiences.
Spanning across notable locations such as St George’s Arts Centre, Gravesham Borough Market, St Andrew’s Quayside, and various others, the festival will collaborate with a diverse array of both local and national artists.
The event will feature immersive works from exciting arts organisations such as widely renowned Emergency Exit Arts, who wowed audiences last year with their piece, ‘The Hourglass’, and locally established creative collective Art is for All, who will be bringing a carousel of exciting interactive pieces for young people.
"The Gravesham Lights festival is a lovely event that brings us all together in the dark days of January. When the Christmas Lights have come down we are delighted that this annual festival of illumination, radiance, and dazzling installations has become established in the Gravesham calendar!" says Lauren Sullivan, cabinet member for Community & Leisure.
"We're thrilled to usher in the New Year with an explosion of creativity, fun, and excitement through the'Reflections' festival," said Mandy Hare, Cultural Manager at Gravesham Borough Council. "This event is designed to enchant visitors and give everyone the opportunity to experience something magical and unforgettable."
Throughout the town, visitors can anticipate an array of captivating installations, interactive workshops, mesmerising performances, and delightful music that will take place in the shadows and along the shore. With a rich tapestry of experiences, the Gravesham Light Festival promises entertainment and engagement for individuals of all ages and interests.
