Maidstone to continue their FA Cup fairytale
Maidstone United have been drawn against Ipswich Town in the next round of the FA Cup.
Maidstone (@maidstoneunited) continued their FA Cup fairytale after stunning League One Stevenage on Saturday at the Gallagher Stadium, with a 1-0 win which sees them reach the fourth round for the first time in their history.
Sam Corne scored a vital penalty in first-half stoppage time to take them through, and they will now travel to Portman Road on the weekend of Saturday 27th January.
The incredible achievement for the sixth tier side was made all the better with Stevenage boss Steve Evans named a near full-strength side.
This is the biggest win since the club was reformed in 1992, with Maidstone set to earn a six figure sum in the region of £230k for their progress in the competition so far.
