Opening date of new luxury rooftop venue Socialite in Canterbury announced
The new rooftop bar and restaurant is all set for a summer opening with bookings now open
It’s been one of the most talked about new dining spots in Canterbury for a while.
And we’ve been waiting for what seems like forever to find out when it will open its doors.
But finally, the team behind Socialite (@socialitecanterbury), the new luxury rooftop bar and restaurant on St Margaret’s Street, has announced an opening date of July 1.
You can now book a table where you’ll be able to take in those amazing views across the city skyline.
It’s been quite the project, transforming a space above the 129-bed Hampton by Hilton into a rooftop venue.
The hotel - which runs separately - was completed last year but the rooftop restaurant and bar remained unfinished.
In January 2022, operators Paragon Hospitality revealed the name Socialite - the second site under the brand name with one already open in Brighton.
It was expected to open in the spring but this was pushed back, with the question on everyone’s lips of when the much-hyped spot would finally launch.
And now, a statement on its social media has confirmed there is just a month to wait.
“We’re thrilled to announce our bookings are now open and we’ll be taking table reservations from Friday, July 1.
“We guarantee Socialite will be the ultimate new location in Canterbury, perfect for a luxury dining experience.”
Sample menus on its website include dishes such as beef carpaccio, scallop ceviche, lobster linguini and duck confit.
Small bites range from dates with blue cheese and pancetta to padron peppers and pink shrimp tempura, to parmesan truffle chips and spicy beef satay skewers.
Socialite guests will access the site via a lift from the ground-floor entrance.
