RISE UP RESIDENCY is a creative arm from RISE UP. CLEAN UP, and is spearheaded by Margate-based artist Louis Masai.  The residency takes the form of a week-long mural festival at the end of September, leading up to a weekend of creative activation workshops on 1st & 2nd October.

There are 17 local, national and international artists arriving in Margate to participate in the mural festival.  Each piece will depict issues around ocean biodiversity and plastic hazards with the intention of acting as an informative backdrop to remind the local community and visitors of Margate to partake in recycling plastics and respecting the ocean.
