New two-storey tapas restaurant with outdoor dining terrace opens
Rico Sabor at St James Retail Park, Dover, is the third restaurant by chef Julian Ramirez
A new tapas restaurant set over two-storeys with a large outdoor dining terrace has opened its doors in Dover.
Rico Sabor at St James Retail Park is the third restaurant by chef Julian Ramirez, who is bringing a taste of Spain and Latin America to the town with the new fusion food venture.
His first venue was launched in an old prison in Gravesend, where Rico Sabor was born.
Then, almost three years later in 2019, he opened his second restaurant in a former convenience store in Rochester.
The newest addition to the growing Rico Sabor family is the new stand-alone building in Dover, set over two levels and with a terrace with views across to Dover Castle.
It offers a fusion of Spanish and Latin American dishes, from tapas, paella and authentic Mexican and Peruvian dishes, to wines from Catalonia, central Spain and Valencia.
But while the recent focus has been on the new Dover venture, Ramirez has been quietly working away on a fourth restaurant in Kent.
Andrew Shepherd, director of AS Retail, the firm assisting Ramirez on the project, was unable to comment on where it will be, but said the fit-out starts this week with an expected opening ahead of Christmas.
