BITE CLUB REVIEW: Juliet’s Farm Shop & Cafe, Ash, Kent

A bike-ride out to Ash (or car, or horse even), Juliet’s Farm Shop & Cafe (@julietsfarmshopandcafe) has long been known as a great stop-off for those on any number of wheels.

Down a long gravel drive, next door to the store, Juliet’s offers an amazing outdoor seating area (and bike rack) in which to enjoy your repast in the countryside air.

Whether it’s for breakfast, brunch or lunch, there’s a number of options, but being that we were on an early-morning lycra-clad jaunt, the Full English (£13.50) came calling.

Kicking off with two fried eggs and two hash browns, arguably the centre focus of the substantial breakfast was the double of Korkers Sausages, hailing from Rolvenden - juicy, flavoursome and delicious.

Of course, Heinz baked beans (as stated on the menu), with bacon rashers, grilled tomato, mushrooms and toast, made for a seriously filling and tasty morning bite.

My co-rider wanted to avoid a wardrobe malfunction on the ride home and went down the healthy route (b*stard) with two beautifully poached eggs served on crushed avocado with toasted sourdough - but he did add a black pudding for good measure. A genuinely journey-worthy breakfast.
