Returning to the Creative Riverside - Gravesham Fringe Festival returns for 2023!
Open call-out for artists and creatives from Gravesham to get involved
Last year more than 16,000 people enjoyed some 25 performances and exhibitions across 10 days in June that made up the Gravesham Fringe Festival (@gravesham_fringe).
And like every year, the festival operates an open call-out for artists and creatives who live, work or want to work in Gravesham to come and be part of the celebrations.
The application process for the 2023 event is now live, so if you are a poet or a potter, a clown or a crafter, or any other kind of creative artist, the fringe team would love to hear from you. All participating artists will be given marketing and project management support for their event.
This year’s fourth annual festival has already got some exciting performances and activities lined up at iconic venues and spaces. LV21, St Andrew’s Arts Centre and the quayside will be swashbuckling over the weekend of 10-11 June, when one of the highlights of the festival - the Groovin’ with Pirates band - will bring their energetic performances to these amazing locations.
The Graffiti Classics will be bursting the elitist boundaries of the traditional string quartet with their hilarious all-singing, all-dancing musical comedy show at the Woodville Studio. The Woodville will also play host to another amazing Posh Club event on Sunday, 11 June. On Saturday, 10 June, Goose Fest at Fort Gardens - the amazing parkland in the centre of Gravesend - will celebrate some of the area’s finest musicians.
Now with the backing of Arts Council England funding, the festival will soon be announcing more amazing events, including four commissions available for artists to create work for this year’s festival. In the meantime, check out the website and take a look at some highlights from last year.
