New location, eco focus and huge line-up all announced as part of Margate Soul Festival 2024.
With the main Sunset Stage moving to Newgate Lower Promenade beneath the iconic Lido sign (see images below), Margate Soul Festival is refreshing its set up this August 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
Ticket holders will of course be able to revel in the magic of special sunsets next to the sandy beach, all while the list of electrifying funk and soul legends grace the stage.
The three-day festival, which brings in 4,000 tickets holders, has been running for more than 20 years and this August, the team will be looking to make further positive impacts when it comes to the environment.

“Respecting the natural landscape and borrowing the space mindfully from its inhabitants is our priority."
“Using eco-generators and low power lighting, partnering with key environmental charities and partners and placed under the protection of the cliffs. Margate Soul Festival 2024 will weave together soulful melodies and a deep reverence for the environment.”
MSF is also encouraging ticket holders to use public and low emission transport this year.
“Margate is 1 hr 45 mins from London and easy to access via train. Ticket holders can also choose to add a bike rental to their booking via Margate’s social enterprise, The Bike Shed, to navigate a car-free path to the festival or pick up the free soul train which will be operating across the festival.”
This year Philadelphia’s Dexter Wansel and homegrown rising talent Izo Fitzroy are the first Sunset Stage acts to be revealed, plus the first wave DJ line up (see below), which includes Brandon Block, Booker T and Derrick Patterson.
More acts will be announced in February, alongside additional locations across the town and more information on family friendly activities over the festival.
Margate Soul Festival is delivered in partnership with social enterprise, NewMarGate CIC. To help support our stunning coastline and special town. £1 per ticket will go back into the local community.
