Medway Food and Drink Festival to launch in Rochester

Live kitchen theatre, demos, music, comedy, arts and crafts at three-day festival

The brand-new three-day Medway Food and Drink Festival (@medwayfoodfestival) promises to cook up a storm this spring, with delicious drinks and tasty treats on offer from around the world.

The inaugural festival, organised by Zoom Events in partnership with Medway Council, will be taking place in the historic Rochester Castle Gardens, from Friday, 31st March, to Sunday, 2nd April.

There will be a live kitchen theatre featuring exciting talks from local chefs and businesses in the food industry across the weekend.

Explore the latest trends, techniques and flavours in the culinary world. Expert speakers will share their insights and experiences, giving attendees the opportunity to learn from the best in the business. From cooking demonstrations to panel discussions, the live kitchen theatre is perfect for foodies, home cooks and anyone looking to learn more about the food industry.

Ticket-holders will be able to sit back and relax, with picturesque views of the castle and cathedral on one side and stunning views of the River Medway on the other, all while enjoying a specially curated line-up of Kentish musicians on the music stage.

There’ll be Glastonbury regulars, local favourites and an opportunity for up-and-coming talent to book a spot on the open-mic stage!

Visitors will also be able to indulge in some shopping, with arts and crafts, jewellery, homeware and grocery stalls across the castle gardens.

The family-friendly event will also have a children’s area that will feature interactive learning, music, a magician and games. Children aged 10 and under can attend the daytime festival for free, while those who book their tickets in advance can take advantage of discounted prices when booking online.

In addition to the daytime festivities, there will be separate evening entertainment for adults only; live comedy will entertain the crowds on the Friday and Saturday nights.

The daytime foodie festival and evening comedy entertainment are both ticketed events - tickets are on sale now.

Don’t miss out on what’s sure to be a great start to the festival season!
