Kent spirits brand Anno Distillers has been revived by new Canterbury owners
The acquisition secures the future of one of Kent’s most recognisable independent spirits brands
One of Kent’s pioneering craft spirits brands is continuing its story after being acquired by Canterbury Brewers & Distillers, owners of The Foundry Brew Pub in Canterbury.
The acquisition secures the future of one of Kent’s most recognisable independent spirits brands, which had fallen into liquidation in 2025.
New owners Canterbury Brewers & Distillers say the move will ensure Anno’s award-winning range continues to be produced in Kent while benefiting from new investment and exciting plans for the future.
Jon Mills, founder of Canterbury Brewers & Distillers, said: “Anno helped put Kent on the map for craft gin and became an iconic Kent brand. When the opportunity came to secure its future, we felt it was too important to let it disappear.
“We’re incredibly proud to have saved an iconic Kent brand and to be able to continue its story. Our aim isn’t to reinvent Anno, but to protect everything people already love about it while giving it a long-term home and the investment it deserves.”
Formerly based in Marden, Anno will now continue as its own premium brand, proudly produced in Canterbury, alongside Canterbury Brewers & Distillers’ own award-winning beers and spirits.
The acquisition also supports the company’s long-term vision to expand production in Canterbury, develop new visitor experiences and continue investing in innovative drinks made in Kent.
Jon added: “Kent has an incredible food and drink heritage, and we’re proud to play a small part in helping preserve it. We’re excited to build on everything Anno has achieved and ensure this iconic Kent brand continues to be enjoyed for many years to come.”
The Anno range is available from The Foundry in Canterbury, online and through selected retailers across Kent and beyond.
