Indigo Moon Theatre presents Gaby Gulliver’s Travels at Glassbox Theatre in Medway!

(Duration: 45 minutes)

Can Gaby Gulliver learn from her magical journey to exciting new worlds, where her size makes her so different to everyone else?

Set in the present day, Gaby Gulliver, an eight-year-old child, is sent on an errand into the woods for her mum…Gaby finds herself in another universe, a weird but wonderful world… then another, and another, as she travels on a magical journey through time and space!

Along the way, regardless of where she is, the problems seem the same as at home…

Take a journey to GlassBox Theatre, Gillingham on Friday 17th April at 2.30pm and join Indigo Moon Theatre as they present Gaby Gulliver’s Travels, a mesmerising combination of live shadow puppetry and animated projection for children and families, which took inspiration from children’s own ideas and feelings.

Told through shadow theatre, unfolding before your eyes, this new puppetry production explores how it feels to be big or small. How will Gaby treat the tiny people when she’s a Giant? How will Gaby survive when she’s a tiny person herself? Will she ever find her way home, and might her experiences change how she feels about the world around her?

“Our young audiences are encouraged to meet our contemporary shadow puppet characters after the show at GlassBox Theatre,” says Indigo Moon Theatre Director, Anna Ingleby. “These characters help us to tell an important story about the effects of how we treat other people, whether we are big or small, including all the creatures around us… but it is also a really accessible way to tell stories which inspires people to have fun at home using similar techniques and easily found materials.”

Gaby’s journey into these parallel universes is one of survival and enlightenment in this contemporary reimagining of Gulliver’s Travels by Indigo Moon Theatre – the latest of Indigo Moon Theatre’s portfolio of universal stories, which includes Jungle Book, The Lost Forest and SeedHeart…. All shows that embrace innovative approaches to storytelling. The touring theatre company brings to life important issues around our world and inspires children and families to continue the fun at home.
