Iconic DJ Spoony heads to Canterbury for intimate rooftop gig

‘Dreem Teem’ legend to play out at new Terrace Bar launch




The Godfather of UK garage music scene DJ Spoony is will be playing out to an intimate crowd at Socialite Canterbury on Saturday 1st of June.

Promising a night of Garage, Soulful House and the best Ibiza classics, Spoony is sure to make the evening ‘Twice As Nice’ alonsgide the launch of Socialite’s spectacular NEW rooftop terrace bar (TICKET INFO HERE).

With unmatched views of the city and Canterbury Cathedral, Socialite’s open-air roof terrace is perfect place to re-live the classic tunes of a generation.

A professional DJ for almost 25 years, Spoony started playing music in his bedroom at the age of 15 before joining 90s pirate radio station London Underground and forming the legendary ‘Dreem Teem’ with DJs Timmi Magic and Mikee B.

With UK Garage taking the country by storm, the Teem went from clubland to hosting their own radio shows on Kiss FM and BBC Radio 1, as well as appearing in the national charts. Spoony has played out at all the big festivals including Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds and The Southport Weekender.

Spoony’s other love is football and in 2003 he joined BBC Radio 5 Live to host ‘606’, a weekly phone in show.

After two years of covering various shows he joined BBC Radio 2 permanently in 2022. He can be heard presenting the ‘Good Groove’ every Friday evening from 9-11pm.
