Hornby opens The Wonderworks experience in Margate
The makers of brands such as Airfix and Scalextric launch interactive attraction
Hornby Hobbies has announced the opening of a brand new interactive experience, The WonderWorks, located in Margate.
Formerly the Hornby Visitor Centre, the attraction (@thewonderworksmargate) will immerse visitors into the world of Hornby Hobbies’ famous hobby, toy, collectable and specialist brands through a range of educational and sensory experiences.
The reimagined experience features new miniature worlds and exhibition pieces, along with a redesigned café with updated menu featuring local produce. In addition to interacting with the impressive exhibitions, visitors will have the opportunity to discover the history of the company and to learn how Hornby, Airfix, CORGI, Scalextric and Pocher make their models and kits.
Daily workshops and special events will help new and existing Hornby Hobbies fans to get the most out of their hobby.

Set in part of the former factory that has been home to the famous brands for almost 70 years, the previous Hornby Visitor Centre attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the world and has been featured on TV series ‘Hornby: A Model World’.
Tickets for The WonderWorks experience cost just £5 per adult, with concessions available for
families, children and groups.
