Folkestone's new artist-led Festival - Open Art Folke 2024
New festival will include open studios, artist suppers, talks, walks, exhibitions, installations, performances and workshops
Open Art Folke is Folkestone’s first artist-led, open house-style event, aiming to showcase the extraordinary breadth of creativity within the local population.
The inaugural festival (@openartfolke24) will take place over two weekends, between 13th and 22nd September, in private and public venues across the town. In its first year, the programme will include a wide range of events and activities, such as open studios, artist suppers, talks, walks, exhibitions, installations, performances and workshops.
The Brewery Tap on Tontine Street will act as a festival hub, with a showcase exhibition, provision of maps and information, and the starting point for tours of the festival sights.
The festival has been created by the Folkestone Artists’ Collective - a volunteer group of 12 artists and arts professionals based in Folkestone and Hythe who came together to organise a new festival supporting creatives to showcase their work in whatever space they chose, encouraging visitors to the town to celebrate local artists.
