Discover creative workspace Studio J1H in Margate

Studio j1h is a new venture starting out in Margate's industrial area.
It’s a creative workspace divided up into small studios where creatives can work on their products individually but can also enjoy a communal space with each other.
It has a very relaxed vibe with a good balance between work and play. Owner Bazz Kay has created a space that has an industrial feel, using materials such as OSB and Burnt Timbers to keep the warehouse style.
At the back of the unit, there is a lounge area with sofas and chairs, a hot desking area and even a games room, including darts, board games and a pool table to help you relax after work. There’s even a ‘tiny tacos’ kitchen, which caters for all events and feeds the workforce.
The shop, located at the front of the building, offers freshly ground coffee and a choice of pastries and soft drinks - it’s also filled with work made by the creatives on site.
They already include “The Lightkeeper” who makes a variety of lamps, as well as restoring and fixing interesting lighting. Artist Kevin English, who produces anything from oil paintings to pencil drawings, and whose recent BBC Proms work can be found on sale in the shop, is in another studio.
Bazz aka “BMK Creative” is also on-site offering its upholstery, welded sculptures and creative furniture.
Outside artists are also invited to showcase their work, while the gallery space will be used for pop-up events and markets for creatives and alike.
