Margate Summer Series 2024 - The Line-up So Far

Dreamland to host the 2024 series

Margate Summer Series have announced even more shows for 2024 at Dreamland Margate.

From May to September 2024, Margate will once again become the go-to destination for music fans as it plays host to the very best homegrown and international talent, in what is set to be the biggest and best summer MSS yet. The series will return to take over the town’s premier amusement park and legendary seafront music venue, Dreamland, creating a unique setting for artists and revellers alike.

Richard Ashcroft (Friday 12th July), former frontman of The Verve and two-time Ivor Novello winner will be gracing Margate with his rock & roll gravitas. Responsible for some of the UK’s biggest 90’s and 00’s anthems including, ‘Bittersweet Syphony’, ‘The Drugs Don’t Work’ and ‘A Song for The Lovers’, audiences can expect to be taken on trip down memory lane.

Bringing an infectious spirit to the Margate Summer Series is the one and only, Limp Bizkit (Saturday 15th June). The American band's immediately recognisable sound spans nu metal, rap and rock and they guarantee a high-energy show, uniquely orchestrated by the iconic, Fred Durst. Expect a show packed with hits - and a packed mosh-pit - as they roll out the anthems.

British icons, Madness (Friday 14th  June), will bring their decades of classic hits to Margate as part of their C’est La Vie Tour. Their infectious ska-rooted pop sound has resonated with fans throughout the years. On top of their renowned hits, ‘Our House’ and ‘Baggy Trousers’, audiences will no doubt be treated to the brand-new album ‘Theatre Of The Absurd Presents C’est La Vie’.

Scottish rock band, Simple Minds (Thursday 20th June), have graced us with their presence for over 40 glittering years, becoming one of the great bands of their generation. The musical pioneers will bring their art-rock pop style, rousing choruses and booming atmospherics to Dreamland with a night of ultimate singalongs from, ‘Don’t You (Forget About Me)’ to ‘Alive And Kicking’.

Following huge demand, two of the UK’s most influential and iconic bands, Manic Street Preachers and Suede (Friday 19th July), have joined forces for a one-off co-headline Summer tour. This show is set to be filled with non-stop music from both bands' huge back catalogues, and plenty of brand new music. This will be an ultimate show not to be missed.

IDLES (Saturday 20th July) have swiftly risen through the ranks of rock to become one of the UK’s most-loved bands. With the announcement of their fifth album due for release on the 16th February 2024, it is safe to say this will be a highly anticipated show with fans eager to hear the new music live. The amusement park will become the perfect backdrop to their charismatic, guitar wielding performance, ensuring a peerless show that will no doubt be packed with cathartic rock magic.

Beloved popstar Paloma Faith (Friday 16th August) is the only British female artist alongside Adele to have had their last three albums go double platinum in the UK. Her powerfully recognisable vocals, honest lyrics and emotive music will amalgamate to create an epic performance that is sure to create a very special moment at Dreamland.

Dance-pop powerhouse, Becky Hill (Saturday 31st August), is a leading force in the dance music scene, with an irrefutable aptitude for writing chart-smashing pop songs. Revellers can expect a show packed full of numerous hits including, ‘Remember’, ‘Lose Control’ and ‘Crazy What Love Can Do’. Becky Hill’s trailblazing status and fierce performance will make for yet another memorable show.

Finally, prepare to be transported back to the golden age of UK Garage, as pioneering maestro, DJ Spoony (Friday 30th August), teams up with the illustrious, Ignition Orchestra, to shine a spotlight back on the genre in his ground-breaking show ‘Garage Classical’. Expect a seamless blend of classic garage tunes reworked with an orchestral twist for what is set to be an unmissable event.

Joining DJ Spoony on this nostalgic musical journey are some of the most celebrated names in the history of the genre: the indomitable So Solid Crew and Heartless Crew, the soulful Shola Ama, the melodious Elisabeth Troy and Kele Le Roc, the evocative Lifford, the vibrant Nay Nay, the rhythmic prowess of Thomas Jules, the electrifying Riche Dan, the unforgettable MC Rankin, and the versatile Asa. With unexpected collaborations and moments to make your heart race, this is a show that reimagines the classics like never before.

Rob Waller, Founder and Programmer of the Margate Summer Series said, “These artists are truly helping us to put Margate on the map as a top music destination in the UK. The line-up is continuing to grow exponentially and we believe this is a truly unique location for audiences to see their favourite artists, with a more intimate venue and for artists to come and entertain fans by the seaside. The response to our first wave of artists has been exciting to see and we are now thrilled to share these new incredible names.”

They will join previously announced artists including: singer-songwriter Jack Savoretti (Friday 5th July), one of the UK’s favourite boybands JLS (Saturday 6th July), music phenomenon, Nile Rodgers & CHIC (Saturday 13th July) who’ll be supported by Kitchen-disco-queen, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and DJ collective Horse Meat Disco. UK pop-sensation Jess Glynne (Friday 26th July) will also take to the stage along with Craig David (Friday 2nd August) with his infamous TS5 DJ set and pop-punk’s favourite band Busted (Friday 23rd August).

With the most prominent of locations, smack bang on the Margate seafront, Margate Summer Series attendees will not only be able to revel in the music, enjoy great food and retro-inspired rides at Dreamland, but can delight in the town’s unique spirit. Packed with cool cafes, award-winning restaurants, art galleries, bars and museums, all within a stone’s throw, Margate is the ideal location for a day trip, weekend away, or simply a night out with old friends and your favourite bands.
