Banksy artwork “Valentine’s Day Mascara” is heading back to its original hometown of Margate and is set to be displayed at The WonderWorks, Hornby Hobbies’ immersive visitor attraction from mid December 2024.
“Valentine’s Day Mascara” captivated the public upon its initial appearance on Valentine’s Day back in 2023, with its poignant social commentary and distinct style.
Now, thanks to Hornby Hobbies, this renowned artwork will remain a celebrated feature of Margate, available to view in The WonderWorks, a destination that celebrates the joy of hobbies and collecting.

Olly Raeburn, CEO of Hornby Hobbies, said: “Banksy’s ‘Valentine’s Day Mascara’ has a special place in Margate’s heart, and we’re honoured to provide a new home for it at The WonderWorks. This move underscores Hornby’s commitment to the Margate community, which has supported us for seven decades, as well as our dedication to the world of collecting—a world that values treasured items and their stories.”
