Original rude boy Neville Staple heading to Kent
The Specials legend will play The Forum in Tunbridge Wells
Legendary frontman of The Specials Neville Staple is heading to Tunbridge Wells for a night at The Forum.
Known as The Original Rude Boy, Staple will celebrate 40 years of his music career and the beginning of the 2-Tone movement when he takes to the stage.
Staple, who after The Specials went on to form Fun Boy Three, is considered a legend in the music world and is credited with changing the face of pop not once but twice.
In 2019 he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Arden University.
His UK and international career is well documented, starting out from the early days with Ray King, Pete Waterman, The Coventry Automatics and his Jah Baddis Sound System, before taking to the stage as a frontman of The Specials.
He has performed, written and produced highly acclaimed albums and singles, along with TV and film soundtracks, including performing on a song for the 2019 Spiderman film.
His musical achievements include awards from MOJO and NME, Gold, Silver and Platinum Discs, and a lifetime achievement award from Foxford School in his home city of Coventry.
He is playing The Forum on Thursday, April 14, at 7.30pm.
