Launch of pizzeria and tap room at Ramsgate Boating Pool
The first exciting offerings at the seaside spot are set to open this week
The launch of the first of the exciting offerings at Ramsgate Boating Pool takes place this week.
Dougheyes Pizza (@dougheyes_pizza) and the new tap room will open their doors, ready for the spring and summer crowds.
The bar will be open from Tuesday to Friday 4pm-10pm, and Saturday and Sunday 12-10pm.
You’ll find @northdownbrewery, @flocbrewing, @kentishpip, @timeandtidebrewing and aperol spritz from @blacklinesdrinks among those on tap.
Dougheyes Pizza will open Wednesday to Friday 4pm-9pm, Saturday 2pm-9pm and Sunday 12-5pm.
Ramsgate Boating Pool group, which is behind the revival project, is currently transforming the popular seaside spot, which is owned by Thanet District Council.
The plans include a live music venue and studio (@soupstudios), and in-house bakery (@blean_baker)
There will also be a cafe, children’s play area, pedalos and more.
RBP group is made up of six members, including Ed Curry and Abi Hubbard. There’s also Adam Hubbard, who has worked for his family’s Whitstable bakery for seven years and runs the Blean Baker.
Set designer Leah Morgan and Simon Trought, who has run a commercial recording studio for 20 years, will bring their industry experience to the venture, too, and business expert Tim Hughes will be financial director.
In their mission statement, the team says they will restore the boating pool and maintain the iconic buildings and pool, to bring a new lease of life to the site.
“We will provide a creative family-friendly venue with an eclectic mix of quality food, drink and entertainment.
“The community will be at the heart of the business. Alongside business operations, we will offer a programme of creative workshops for all visitors.
“The pizzeria, cafe, pop-up bar and music studio will be a financial hub generating revenue.
“We will allocate a percentage of all revenues to a fund which we will use to restore and maintain the building.”
