A three-day weekend of live music is due to take place at The Hop Farm in Tonbridge, Kent from Friday 17th to Sunday 19th June.
Spanning chart topping soul and pop from Simply Red (Fri), new wave and mod revival from Paul Weller (Sat) and a highly anticipated hometown show for alt-pop band, Keane (Sun), there is something for everyone at these events.
The weekend is set to be a huge celebration for Kent as The Hop Farm plays host to its first run of concerts of 2022 staged by the Bedford-based independent promoter, LPH Concerts & Events.
On Friday 17th June, music fans in their masses will flock to The Hop Farm to hear one of the UK’s biggest bands, Simply Red, perform a catalogue of unforgettable hits, including ‘Something Got Me Started’, ‘Fairground’ and the US #1 hits, ‘Holding Back The Years’ and ‘If You Don’t Know Me By Now’. Mick Hucknall and his band will be joined by very special guest, UK soulful dance diva, Lisa Stansfield, and the award-winning saxophonist, YolanDa Brown.
Saturday sees The Modfather himself, Paul Weller take to the stage. Few artists have influenced music like Paul Weller and now audiences at The Hop Farm can enjoy live performances of both new material from his 17th solo album ‘An Orchestrated Songbook’ to classics from his back catalogue such as ‘Wild Wood’, ‘Wake Up the Nation’ and ‘You Do Something To Me’. The special guest on the night is the highly respected songwriter and two-time Mercury Prize nominee, Richard Hawley (formerly of Britpop favourites The Longpigs and Pulp), with support from breakout singer-songwriter, Andrew Cushin (signed to Pete Doherty’s Strap Originals label).
Closing out this weekend on Sunday 19th June is the internationally acclaimed four piece, Keane. The band, who met at school at Tonbridge, have accumulated over 13 million album sales worldwide, including the seminal debut smash, ‘Hopes and Fears’. Performing hit singles ’Somewhere Only We Know’, ‘Everybody’s Changing’, and ’This Is The Last Time’, as well as new music from the 2019 album ‘Cause and Effect’, it is set to be a magical night at The Hop Farm. Keane will be joined by special guests, London indie-rock band, Flyte and up and coming musician, Michael Conryan.
