Sushi restaurant KOKORO will open a new branch in Calverley Road in Tunbridge Wells.

The company already has three in Kent - in Maidstone, Sevenoaks and Canterbury - serving Korean and Japanese food such as katsu curry, gyoza dumplings and udon noodles as well as sushi.

Now, plans to transform the Tech Experts phone repair shop into a new branch have been approved by planners at Tunbridge Wells Borough Council.

Work has started and the premises is expected to open later this year, with a takeaway option too.

KOKORO (@kokorouk_official) started out in 2010 in Kingston-Upon-Thames as a small Korean-Japanese takeaway store, founded by Rak-Kyu Park.

There were just three tables there, but it soon expanded into a booming franchise now boasting some 50 different locations in the UK.

The ethos behind KOKORO is that “food has the power to recollect cherished memories and stories”.

“As a result, we strive to produce fine quality, heartfelt food,” the restaurant said.
