In the heart of Faversham, Vino has been at the forefront of flavour the town for a decade. A wine shop and bar, it has been led by expert sommelier Fabio Armenti, who personally chooses the 400 bottles available for enthusiasts looking for something special at home.

Meanwhile, the daily-changing blackboard features a choice of 15 wines to enjoy by the glass in the bar. Looking for a tipple that is truly to your taste? You’ll be asked: are you eating with food and, if so, what are you planning to cook? What do you usually like to drink? Do you have a preferred region or grape?

And if it takes your fancy, Fabio can even explain in more detail the geographic information about the bottle
you have selected.

Expect a conversational friendly atmosphere as locals and those new to the town experience a totally unique stop off. While coffee is served at Vino before Midday - the Italian way - the evenings often extend into a journey of discovery.

A selection of antipasti, pastries and small plates (subject to availability and / or booking), offer a tastebud tingling snack. Regular events offer a wide range of scope from the extremely popular DJ & Wine Nights - with spin masters playing House, Funk and Soul, while guests can sample bottles for the first time.

The Wine Tasting Evenings, of course, go down a storm, with six specially selected wines - often themed by grape variety or region.

“We have different types”, Fabio says. “One focused on Portugal and its different regions, another on ‘One Makers Wine’ where we choose all the wines from one maker. We showcase everything from Champagne to Napa, Rieslings from Alsace and Burgundian whites.”

The picks will be paired with flavoursome dishes, prepared on the night by an expert chef.

“If we’re doing Argentina, they’ll serve regional dishes to match. It makes the whole evening immersive.”
