Create Music Village returns to Ashford for October 2024
Ashford’s grassroots music venues will once again be alive with the sound
Ashford’s grassroots music venues will once again be alive with the sound of live music for the entire month of October as Create Music Village returns to the town for a third year.
Celebrating Ashford’s live-music scene, diverse venues and local acts, this year’s Create will also see nationally-celebrated artists, rising stars and classic pop and rock tributes on the bill.
While the full line-up is still to be announced, it’s been revealed that BBC Radio 6 Music favourites Low Girl, national treasure Shaun Williamson aka Barrioke, dancefloor-fillers
Deptford Northern Soul Club and national phenomenon Swiftageddon (The Taylor Swift Club Night) will all have a place on the bill.
This year the Create Music Village consists of core live-music venues Revelation, Low Key Taproom and Coachworks, along with a fringe line-up of additional events, headed up by an exciting film programme and short-film competition at The Ashford Cinema.
As well as ticketed gigs, this year’s Create will feature family-friendly workshops and free community performances, including a day of world music at Ashford Bandstand, curated by the Ashford Massive collective.
The good news is you don’t have to wait until October to get involved. The Low Key Taproom is hosting regular Create Introducing nights, showcasing the area’s new and emerging artists (follow on instagram @lowkeytaproom to find out what’s coming up,
or to apply to perform if you’re a local performer or band).
