Is that surprise I see in your eyes?
Three little pigs went to market and came home with a magazine that will kick ass and take names. For far too long, a pea souper of mediocrity and nicey-nice has smothered the county’s magazine output.
We love all the good things that Kent offers, sure, but Team ‘cene is tired of the lifestyle productions that are as predictable in their content as the lambs and snowy mistletoe that will inevitably front their spring and winter editions.
We want something more. And there is more. A lot more. Just scratch the surface and you will find a plethora of talent waiting to be discovered here.
We all know Kent is a county with a rich history of hop picking, brewing and long walks in the countryside, but it's time to focus on the here and now as well as the future. But before KCC start patting themselves on the back for creating an attractive county to live in, let’s make it clear that the regeneration of areas such as Margate, Ramsgate and Faversham is not down to a council plan or a government-funded scheme, it is down to the creative individuals willing to stick their neck out and do something different.
They are the ones we should be heralding because they are the ones creating Kent’s new ‘cene. This is something we believe in and something we think everybody should know about.
In this issue we look at some of the best musical talents coming out of Canterbury, the fashion brand taking the Whitstable name to a new market, the restaurant group that has conquered Ibiza and the festival that has national radio stations buzzin’.
