Live Music
The Vernon Spring and Yoshika Colwell
London-based composer and pianist The Vernon Spring combines minimalist jazz with ambient tones, while Kentish musician Yoshika Colwell is a fresh new voice in contemporary folk music. Together, they released a collaborative EP in December 2024 called This Weather.
Immersive Experience
People Care Planet Care and Clementine Blue
As part of the Quiet Space in our Foyle Rooms, People Care Planet Care (formerly known as Haeckels) will be curating a scent installation inspired by the natural environments explored in Anya Gallaccio: preserve. The scents will be diffused in the room for you to experience, with low, coloured lighting and cushions – ready for you to unwind.
Alongside this installation, Margate-based multimedia artist and musician Clementine Blue has curated a nature-inspired soundtrack featuring field recordings, creating an ambient space for lounging and reflection.
Workshops
Cherelle Sappleton
Artist and somatic & sound therapist Cherelle Sappleton will be running two guided meditation workshops for Turner Lates. Join Cherelle for a participatory voice performance alongside Anya Gallaccio’s candle installation La Dolce Vita and soothing crystal singing bowls next to Gallaccio’s ash tree installation The Inner Space Within.
Polly Bennett
You’ll also be able to drop in and join a natural pigment painting workshop with Thanet-based artist Polly Bennett, where you’ll learn to grind natural materials into a fine powder and then into a watercolour paint. Using organic and recycled materials, this workshop celebrates environmentally-friendly practices and reflects on the materials in Anya Gallaccio: preserve.
Food & Drink
X MUSE
X MUSE (pronounced ‘tenth muse’), will design a bespoke vodka cocktail based on Anya Gallaccio’s exhibition. The first 50 cocktails will be FREE, so come early to claim your cocktail.
Louie On Sea
Louie On Sea will be serving up more delicious plates. Mixing local and seasonal produce with bold spices and sumptuous flavours.
