THE SAFFA BRU OPENS FLAGSHIP RESTAURANT IN FOLKESTONE
South African BBQ experts The Saffa Bru head to Folkestone Harbour
South African Braai (BBQ) experts The Saffa Bru (@thesaffabru) is opening its flagship restaurant at Folkestone Harbour.
The unique street food project, which started shortly after lockdown, has been popping up in locations across Kent including Woolton Farm and Dreamland for the past couple of years, but has now opened their very first flagship restaurant at the harbour.
The former ferry port was first reopened to the public in 2014 after extensive works reimagined the site as food and drink destination that snaked out to sea, with just six small seasonal businesses in place. The popular seaside attraction, which received more than 2 million visitors in 2022, now boasts an ever-growing community of over 60 independent food, drink and retail businesses that give the site its unique flavour.
The menu will include an array of items that will bring joy to any South African expats looking for a taste of home. Boerewors Roll (beef and pork sausage) and Lamb Bunny Chow (slow cooked lamb curry served in hollowed out bread) can be found on an extensive menu that includes more recognisable items, such as Ribeye Steak & Fries or Chicken Curry and Fries.
Opening Times:
Wednesday – Saturday 12 – 8
Sunday 12 – 6
Located in Harbourside Square: a newly developed area located near the entrance to the Harbour Arm.
