Formally set up in 2002, Pie Factory Music provides life-enhancing creative opportunities for the young people of East Kent, through youth work, music and arts projects, pastoral care and counselling.
Over the past two decades, Pie has:
Supported 50,000 young people in East Kent through innovative programmes that empower young people to influence their own lives positively.
Held 167,346 sessions, providing a safe space for young people to connect, grow, be inspired, be seen, be heard, and be themselves.
Raised £5 million+ to create opportunities that lead to progression, employment and better life chances, especially for those facing challenging life circumstances
30% of Pie’s team have been past participants with the charity’s work and young people are represent a fifth of its Board.
The charity is celebrating these achievements, and local young people, with a night of live music. THE BIG GIG takes place on Saturday 3rd December at Elsewhere Margate and will see performances from Pie’s rising female Emerging Artists duo debdepan, plus Pie alumni Evan Williams and seasoned performer Falle Nioke, as well as DJs.
Pie’s Managing Director Steph Dickinson says: “This is a really special time for Pie, and we all need some light relief at the moment. We are proud of and committed to enabling every young person in East Kent to have access to free life-enhancing opportunities and a community of support. It’s amazing to have reached this milestone and this event is for our young people, supporters and community to come together, to rise up and rejoice – it’s a moment to take stock of the vital, important role our young people play now, and in the future. THE BIG GIG at one of our favourite local venues Elsewhere Margate is going to be epic, and we want everyone to come, so please join us. By doing so, you’ll be helping us to keep going for another 20 years, and beyond.”
Tickets are £10 / £5 (low-wage ticket price) with a £1 booking fee (14+ years event). Proceeds from the event will go to support their work.
