Docker Bakery Opens in Ashford

The new site will also generate a number of new jobs in the town

This October, Docker Bakery will open a brand-new site at 25 New Street, bringing its much-loved breads, pastries, and coffee to the heart of Ashford’s food scene.

Born on Folkestone’s Harbour Arm, Docker has grown from a tiny container bakery into a thriving Kent business. Known for its solely plant-based products, including sourdough, pastries, and seasonal treats; the bakery has earned a reputation for flavour, freshness, and craft. Expansion to Ashford marks the next chapter in Docker’s journey, fuelled by strong community support and a desire to be part of the town’s exciting future.

The new site will also generate a number of new jobs in the town, strengthening Docker’s commitment to local employment. Coffee will be served in partnership with Curve Coffee Roasters, a close collaborator based in Margate who are known for their speciality small-batch roasting.

“Opening in Ashford feels like a natural step for us,” says Wes Burden, co-founder of Docker. “It’s a town with incredible momentum, and we’re proud to be contributing to that growth. Ashford has a buzzing food culture, and we can’t wait to share our bread and coffee with a new community.”
