Screen South will be producing four music videos for Kent artists
How Can You Be Sure by Kopper: Music video created as part of Music Videos in May 2024
Musicians and bands in Kent are invited to take their promos to the next level with ‘Music Videos in May’, a programme that offers the chance to create a professional music video that is shot in Folkestone – completely free of charge and funded by Screen South and Arts Council England.
Delivered as part of Folkestone’s ‘Music in May’ in partnership with Screen South and Seaview Studios, this unique initiative provides local artists with the opportunity to shoot a high-quality music video alongside an experienced production crew – regardless of financial circumstances. No prior filmmaking experience is required - just a passion for music, a great track, and a willingness to get creative with ideas!
The track can be of any genre, from punk to classical; we only ask that it’s an original composition to which applicants own all rights, and that it doesn’t exceed four minutes in length.
As part of the production process, each video must incorporate at least one element of creative technology, such as a green screen background, 360-degree filming, or other innovative techniques.
If you don’t have any experience with creative tech just yet, don’t worry – the Screen South team are on hand with all the help and equipment you might need!
That’s not all – the completed music videos will be shown at a very special Music Videos in May Showcase event (Folkestone’s Silver Screen Cinema, Friday 30th May 2025, 6pm – 8pm), a fun and exciting free local screening that’s open to the public.
Directors and/or Editors can also get involved – if you’re up for turning visions into reality, please do get in touch with your CV and showreel. Don’t worry if you haven’t worked on music videos before!

How to Get Involved:
Interested musicians and bands should apply as soon as possible to secure a spot in the programme. Spaces are limited, so early applications are encouraged.
