Renowned west Kent Americana music festival Black Deer (@blackdeerfest) has announced its first list of artists set to perform in 2023.
Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, The Teskey Brothers, Lucinda Williams, and Calexico are amongst the first major names that have been revealed - with recent Grammy-nominated performers Bonnie Raitt and Allison Russell playing their only UK festivals of 2023 at Black Deer.
Taking place at Eridge Park on June 16th-18th, the festival will also welcome Elles Bailey, Amythyst Kiah, Robert Vincent, Bella White and Dylan Earl, with more names to follow soon.
Festival favourites The Songwriter Sessions, Ozark Holler Hootenanny, Gospel Brunch and The Great Americana Songbook all return and the stage is set for the best Black Deer yet.
Organisers Gill Tee and Debs Shilling said: “We want to thank ticket-holders for the record-breaking pace at which you snapped up Super Early Bird and Early Bird tickets, we don’t take that kind of unwavering support for granted, particularly in these tough times.
”We’re working so hard behind the scenes with our small but dedicated team to guarantee you another great Black Deer experience next summer. There’s a lot more to come, but we hope you agree that this initial announcement demonstrates our commitment to building Europe’s premier Americana playground once again. Bonnie Raitt, Nathaniel Rateliff, Lucinda Williams, Allison Russell… it reads like a who’s who of Americana music past and present. We can’t wait to welcome our community back into the deer park to enjoy it all!”
