Viking Bay Classic SUP race returns for 2022
Stand Up Paddle Boarders of all abilities can take part
The Viking Bay Classic returns on October 1st 2022.
GBSUP runs a national series of Stand Up Paddle events with two disciplines: Flatwater and Ocean Technical. And for 2022, Kent SUP Racing has once again been asked to host the final event for their National Tech series. Working in partnership with Kent Surf School based at the stunning Viking Bay right in the heart of Broadstairs, the Viking Bay Classic brings national-level racing to Kent.
This year also sees the South East Regional Series being wrapped up with a Hybrid-Tech race in the afternoon taking in the stunning Thanet coastline. Paddlers will start from the bay and race out to sea before turning along the coast and back into the bay to start their next lap.
There is also the Water Skills Academy-sponsored Junior Clinic and Races between races, so it's a fun day for all the family and non-stop action on the water.
When does the race start?
The GNSUP Tech race will start at 10am from the beach at Viking Bay, right in front of Kent Surf School. Participants will race a set course coming in and out of the bay over multiple laps, producing exciting racing.
