SMOKED & UNCUT FESTIVAL COMES TO CANTERBURY

Supergrass and The Selecter head up the music while renowned chefs Angela Hartnett and Neil Borthwick will be in the kitchen

THE PIG at Bridge Place will be bringing is renowned festival to the Canterbury site on August 13th.

“Smoked & Uncut is back with full-scale festivals and their nostalgic beats and forest eats! Expect laid back classic tunes, a bundle of bars, field food and feasting.”

Indie rock legends Supergrass will be headlining the summer date, supported by SKA icons The Selecter.

At the height of Britpop and Cool Britannia, Supergrass released their debut album I Should Coco. Their most well-known hit Alright catapulted them to rock super-stardom. Since then the band has released five albums and continue to perform both in the UK and internationally.

Festi-food

Food stalls at the festivals are another great lure offering a seriously tasty selection of options from classic burgers to stone-baked pizza; a PIG BBQ to hot veggie and vegan bites. Of course these mouth-watering dishes need washing down with something special - party people fear not. There's the Chase Distillery Horsebox for all G&T needs, cocktails from Fever-Tree, Shepherd Neame's Beer Bar or Hambledon's double-decker bus with their quaffable Hampshire fizz.

Feasting

Feasting with Angela & Friends

If you want something even more epic to remember your festival day, head inside to the hotel's restaurant for a 4-course feasting menu with Angela Hartnett and her chef friends (still tbc). Each chef takes on a course so expect dishes that are not only full of flavour but also of their personalities. Angela, who needs little introduction, is one of the UK's most loved chefs and restaurateurs. At the festivals, in addition to her chef friends, she will be joined by Neil Borthwick, Head Chef of Soho's legendary The French House. Neil also happens to be Angela's husband...

The Apprentice & James Golding - NEW

And for the first time The Pigs have their new Apprentice field kitchen serving up garden classics rustled up by the group's very own PIG Chef Apprentices and Group Chef Director James Golding. The PIG apprentices will be operating under canvas to cook up a delicious 3 course menu using ingredients both from the hotels' kitchen gardens and local hero suppliers. Picture long sharing tables, perfect for groups to sit together and enjoy the festival vibes.
