NETHERWXRLD - ABYSS

Canterbury alternative hip-hop outfit netherwxrld has released new track abyss.

“abyss is a dark, experimental track fusing industrial rock and hip-hop - with lo-fi/ambient under-tones,” say the group.

A droning, sinister hook with a metronomic beat and shuddering bass, abyss had us hooked in from the get go. The first single off of their forthcoming E.P. 'etheric'“, the uber atmospheric delivery of both the menacing music and angry, despairing lyrics, mean we are pumped about seeing what comes next.

TOORIA - MEMORIES

 Insta: @tooriamusic
Folkestone singer-songwriter Tooria has officially debuted as an independent pop artist with the release of emotional pop track Memories.

Tooria, who has worked behind the scenes with a number of high profile artists in the past, penned Memories in tribute to her late grandfather, who tragically succumbed to Covid-19 earlier this year.

The Kent-based songstress collaborated with local singer-songwriter-turned-producer, Will Newman, on the track, which narrates the thoughts and feelings of her loss. But it’s up beat piano helps us to remember the good times.

GEORGIA PHOENIX - MISS YOU

Insta: @georgiaphoenixdnb

Kent DnB mixster Georgia Phoenix continues an impressive surge into the who’s who? of 2021 electronic music. With a whopping 33k monthly listeners now on Spotify, new track Miss You, out on Device Records, is only going to propel her further.

With a steadily growing hook lifting the smooth lyrics onto a jungle-ish beat… it’s catchy AF. With regular peaks and drops, the track keeps you locked in for a full four minutes. Ravers, prepare to get sweaty to this one.

FOUR MORE TO DISCOVER:

FOUNTAIN ISLAND - DEAD FRIENDS

Insta: @fountainislanduk

From: Canterbury

IN THEIR OWN WORDS: “Dead Friends is about toxic people and the celebration of cutting them out of your life. With the art and video using vampires to represent the toxic individuals who suck your life away the lyrics metaphorically talk of destroying those demons to move on and become happier and healthier.”

KAYEZ - TUG TALK

Insta: @Kayez.KVC

From: Maidstone

IN THEIR OWN WORDS: “A combination of boisterous and rhythmic flows mixed into a bass heavy and kick driven instrumental. This is one of those songs you can't help but bop your head to. The instrumental (prod. by Kayez himself) contains elements of jazz such as the saxophone but also elements of UK drill.”

THE KING ROOKS - WHAT DO YOU SAY NOW

Insta: @thekingrooks

From: Folkestone

IN THEIR OWN WORDS: “The King Rooks are a combination of catchy melodies, big riffs and huge choruses. What Do You Say Now combines those traits with influence from bands such as The Cure, Catfish and The Bottlemen and Arctic Monkeys.”

KOPPER - LOVE

Insta: @_kopper_

From: Folkestone

IN THEIR OWN WORDS: “KOPPER are an explosive and unhinged post-punk package of new-age noise, inherently inspired by the likes of IDLES, Nirvana and My Bloody Valentine. The Folkestone based three-piece make raw melody driven clashes of high-octane-fuelled walls of noise, tainted with a personal and politically off-the-tongue guise.”
