The Food Village at Macknade in Faversham is fast becoming Kent’s leading fixed street-food destination.

Open every Wednesday to Sunday from 11am to 5pm, then late until 9pm every Friday and Saturday, the Food Village showcases the best small, local independent traders - the opening party is Friday 29th April!!!

With quality and community at the heart of the Macknade (@macknade) manifesto, it’s a chance to sample a wide variety of amazing internationally-inspired dishes, right on your doorstep.

Get ready for Macknade’s signature wood-fired pizzas, South African boerewors with chakalaka from Saffa Bru, legendary Truffle & Parmesan Fries, Miso Bagel Burgers and BBQ braised beef brisket from Silver Birch and Kent’s best Tacos and Totchos from Taco Bill... and finish off with a fully loaded crepe from brand new trader Mamie's Crepes

There will also be regular live music, workshops, tastings and food demos.

Here’s our guide to the regular line-up at The Food Village and the signature dishes not to miss.

Silver Birch Fine Food (@silverbirchfinefoods)

The team at Silver Birch are passionate about bringing their unique take on street food to life – delivering fusion flavours inspired by their extensive travels.

When he’s not busy feeding world-renowned directors and catering large-scale events, you’ll find head honcho Anthony at the Food Village, serving up Silver Birch’s memorable menu.

Don’t miss…

Anyone who’s been to the Food Village will tell you there’s nothing quite like *those* Truffle Parmesan Fries, but don’t let it distract you from Silver Birch’s other big hitters.

The Smoked BBQ Beef Brisket is a meat-eater’s dream, while The Mighty Miso Bagel Burger will have you in veggie heaven.

Taco Bill (@tacobillstreetfood)

Regulars on the festival scene and wedding circuit, Taco Bill settle down to make Macknade their summer home.

Their authentic taco offering features the very best Mexican market food menu, created by talented chef Will Burnett.

Don’t miss…

It’s safe to say that every taco, burrito and loaded nacho dish on the Taco Bill menu packs a delicious, spicy punch.

BUT they have a secret star dish that will have diehard Taco Bill fans turning up time and time again – their Totchos.

Trust us, these Tater Tots piled high with Chipotle Cheese Sauce and Pico de Gallo will blow even the most street-food-savvy diner’s mind.

The Deck

Open seven days a week, you’ll find Macknade’s dedicated in-house team getting in on the street-food action out on the Food Village deck.

Here you can grab everything from a coffee and a Grain and Hearth pastry to a made-to-order woodfired pizza from the resident chefs.

Don’t miss…

With Italian heritage a key part of the Macknade story, The Deck’s smoky N’duja Pizza is one of the very best around.

The Italian influence ensures a stonking spin on a traditional sandwich menu, too: trying out their filled Panuozzo is a must, whether you opt for a fully-loaded Breakfast Butty, the New York Deli or our personal fave, the Kimchi & Egg.

The Saffa Bru (@thesaffabru)

The Saffa Bru is a family-run business bringing you the best South African flavours.

After more than a decade on the cheffing, owner Keaton puts its signature spin on every dish, from finessing the fab vegan offering to the meaty BBQ boards.

Don’t miss…

Returning to the menu for summer 2022 are The Saffa Bru’s Ribeye Steak Fries with Peppercorn Sauce, Kimchi & Mango Salsa. Race you there!

Mamie’s Crêpes (@mamiescrepeskent)

A father-and-son team with some serious French heritage, Mamie’s Crêpes will be well known to anyone frequenting Kent’s best pop-up food market.

Summer 2022 sees them join the Macknade Food Village with their magnifique menu of sweet and savoury crêpes , created using a secret family recipe passed down through the generations.

Don’t miss…

While it’s very hard to pick a winner from Mamie’s extensive crepe menu, for us the loaded Biscoff Crêpe is hard to beat.
