VIDEO PREMIERE: David Ellis releases 'Down in the Hollow'

The atmospheric video was shot by George Hopkins at Margate Caves

Faversham-raised former Razorlight guitarist David Ellis has released the video for his latest single ‘Down in the Hollow’.

‘cene Magazine has the brilliant opportunity to premiere the video which was shot by George Hopkins at Margate Caves.

Reflecting upon a time of temptation with his new solo single ‘Down In the Hollow’, David has created a personal account of overcoming modern day vices.

Down in the Hollow’s Cinematic Indie Folk tone hark back to the great songwriters of the 70’s.

Its mood would not be out of place on ‘Songs Of Love and Hate’ by Leonard Cohen or Metals by Feist. Inspired by Nick Mulvey, José González and Devendra Banhart, David maintains his focus passionately on the issues of the day and navigates his life through thoughtfully composed lyrics.

His telling of these captivating experiences attempts to navigate humanity back to its senses. “Down in the Hollow of existence, Looking for pleasures, not aliments Gorged on the vines of Merriment More than I needed…” David’s previous releases ‘Misty Heights’ (Debut Album) and ‘Dawn Star’ (Single) have received illustrious praise from Clash Magazine, Fred Perry Subculture and was chosen as BBC Introducing Record of the week.

The release is complemented by his TED talks performance at the Cambridge Theatre, London in May where he shared the stage with Tom Odell
