Broadstairs Food Festival Returns for 2022
Broadstairs' Victoria Gardens will see the return of the renowned Autumn Broadstairs Food Festival from Sept 30th - Oct 2nd
Combining the cliff top gardens and sea views, this landmark location will transform into one of the town's leading events.
Food and drink enthusiasts and festival lovers will enjoy more than 100 exhibitors including produce, Kent wine and spirits and kitchenalia. An array of international dishes will be available at the hot food stalls, complimented by a bar and cider house to keep visitors nice and refreshed.
In the festival’s continued drive to reduce waste on-site, visitors are encouraged to bring their own drinking vessel or take advantage of the deposit scheme for recyclable drinkware at the main bar.
This year sees the return of the Kitchen Theatre, jointly sponsored by Chapel House Estate and Miles and Barr with new demonstrations and tasting experiences each day.
Jo Scott, event director, says: “I’m really excited about this year’s festival, the eclectic blend in the Kitchen Theatre offers sessions attractive for all who have interest in our county’s food and drink.”
Highlights include chef demonstrations from notables Chapel House Estate, Stark, Buoy & Oyster and The Table. Talks and tastings include foraging, growing vegetables in containers and, new for 2022, hands-on cookery sessions for children on Sunday.
Many of these sessions are free to enter, as is the main arena, featuring all the trade stalls.
Simon Abra, chairman of the festival organising committee says: ”The festival is managed as a not-for-profit community interest company and to reflect that ethos, we offer as much free access as we are able, raising funds through sponsorship and prize draws. Just £2 gives people a chance to support us and be in with a chance to win either £500 voucher for kitchen knives with Flint and Flame, or a two night stay at The Royal Albion Hotel, courtesy of Shepherd Neame.”
Details of exhibitors, KItchen Theatre activities and how to enter the donation-based Prize Draw will be published on the website:
